SERIES DESCRIPTION:

AMERICAN DAD is a subversive animated series that revolves around STAN SMITH (Seth MacFarlane), a CIA agent based in Langley Falls, Virginia, who is an undisputed weapons expert and proud family man. Stan's wife is the sweet, Edith Bunker-esque FRANCINE (Wendy Schaal), who has carefully hidden her party-girl personality for the sake of the conservative man she loves. Stan is constantly butting heads with his ultra-liberal 18-year-old daughter HAYLEY (Rachael MacFarlane), who is forced to go through an airport-style security check every time she comes home from a day of Women's Studies classes at the local community college. Hayley's 14-year-old brother, the hapless, geeky STEVE (Scott Grimes), seems to be on the verge of puberty but can't quite make it past the squeaky awkwardness.

The Smith household is rounded out by two rather unconventional members. There's ROGER (MacFarlane), the sarcastic space alien Stan rescued from Area 51 who lives in the Smiths' attic, and KLAUS (Dee Bradley Baker), a lascivious goldfish with the brain of a German guy - the result of a CIA experiment gone seriously wrong.

Season 1

PILOT - 1AJN01 - 2005 - The Smith family — consisting of 13-year-old Steve, 18-year-old Hayley, mom Francine, and CIA operative dad Stan — shelter an alien, Roger, in their house: Roger trades favors to the teens in exchange for junk food; and Stan tries to help Steve get girls.

SMITH IN THE HAND - 1AJN10 - 2005 - After warning Steve about the dangers of sexual self-gratification, Stan finds himself hopelessly addicted; and Roger gets a bartender’s license.

CON HEIR - 1AJN11 - 2005 - After Grandpa dies, Stan introduces the family to his real father, a debonair secret agent; when Stan accompanies his father on a mission to retrieve uranium that terrorists have supposedly hidden in a museum, he discovers that Jack is really a jewel thief; meanwhile Steve falls for an eighty-year-old woman.

STAN OF ARABIA (PART 1) - 1AJN12 - 2005 - Bullock reassigns Stan to Saudi Arabia, where Stan finds out that women are governed by a strict set of rules… that are much to his liking.

STAN OF ARABIA (PART 2) - 1AJN13 - 2005 - After violating several laws in Saudi Arabia, the Smiths are sentenced to death by stoning; and Roger is wooed by a powerful prince.

STANNIE GET YOUR GUN - 1AJN14 - 2005 - Hayley accidentally paralyzes Stan when she fires a gun she thought was loaded with blanks; and Roger convinces Steve he’s adopted.

STAR TREK - 1AJN15 - 2005 - Roger is overjoyed to discover that Steve’s new book is all about him… until he finds out that it paints him in an unflattering light.

NOT PARTICULARLY DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES - 1AJN16 - 2005 - Francine joins a group of housewives who cheat on their husbands; Stan befriends a tiny dog; and Hayley locks Steve and Klaus in a closet.

ROUGH TRADE - 1AJN17 - 2006 - When Stan and Roger trade places, Roger gets a job as a car salesman, while Stan ends up in jail.

FINANCES WITH WOLVES - 1AJN18 - 2006 - After receiving a hefty bonus from work, Stan buys extravagant gadgets while Francine pleads for her dream kiosk. Upset about his lack of support, Francine opens a muffin shop without his approval and gives Stan a taste of life without a housewife. In a desperate move, Stan puts Klaus' brain back into a human body – only to discover it was a huge mistake as Klaus tries to win over Francine. Meanwhile, Steve is convinced he's a teen wolf after watching a horror film.

IT'S GOOD TO BE THE QUEEN - 1AJN19 - 2006 - Because of a past incident at his own prom, where he was lured into a dance with the homecoming queen only to have a pile of pigs dropped on him, Stan wants revenge by showing off that he married a homecoming queen, Francine. A proud Stan accompanies Francine to her reunion, but when they find out that two ballots were lost and that Francine didn’t actually win the crown, Stan is devastated. Meanwhile, a dejected Steve is “saved” by a pizza delivery man with a Messianic message.

ROGER 'N ME - 2AJN01 - 2006 - When Stan goes to Atlantic City for a bachelor party and is shunned by his so-called best friend, Roger steps in and becomes Stan's new sidekick. Their friendship goes to a whole new level, but when they return home and face Francine, Stan realizes that what happens in Atlantic City doesn't necessarily stay there. Meanwhile, Hayley and Steve team up to break up a good-looking couple. 

HELPING HANDIS - 2AJN02 - 2006 - Stan devises a plan to make Steve more popular at school, but the plan backfires when the side effects make him a little "too popular;" and Hayley's student film shames Francine into becoming a surgeon.

WITH FRIENDS LIKE STEVE'S - 2AJN03 - 2006 - Steve’s friend Barry turns evil after skipping his meds, and schemes to replace Steve in Stan’s life; and Roger’s beer-drinking skills earn him membership in a college fraternity.

TEARS OF A CLOONEY - 2AJN04 - 2006 - Stan enlists his contacts at the CIA to help make Francine's birthday wish come true… to destroy George Clooney; and Roger starts his own vineyard with the help of some foster-child labor.

AMERICAN DAD AFTER SCHOOL SPECIAL, THE - 2AJN05 - 2006 - Stan becomes overly proud of Steve for getting his first girlfriend… until he finds out she’s overweight.

CAMP REFOOGEE - 2AJN06 - 2006 - Stan accidentally sends Steve to a refugee camp instead of a summer camp, and travels to Africa with Hayley to bring him home.

AMERICAN DREAM FACTORY, THE - 2AJN16 - 2007 - Stan resolves to pursue his lifelong ambition of making holiday teddy bears, but his new business venture quickly turns into a sweatshop using undocumented workers and may be his undoing.

BLACK MYSTERY MONTH - 2AJN20 - 2007 - Steve's research for a report on George Washington Carver and peanut butter uncovers a conspiracy dating back to the Civil War, with ties to the highest levels of government and secret societies.

MAGNIFICENT STEVEN, THE - 2AJN21 - 2007 - A quest to turn Steve and his friends into men ends up with Stan brought up on charges in a Congressional hearing; Roger's crush on Hayley sparks a catfight between Hayley and Francine.

VACATION GOO, THE - 2AJN22 - 2007 - Francine discovers that everyone of their family vacations have been artificially experienced in tanks filled whit green goo. This makes her very angry and she demands a real vacation. When they finally go on a real vacation Francine thinks this vacation must bee fake too since it seems too good to be true. She therefore causes the family to suffer the consequences. Simultaniusly, Roger attempts to become the greatest actor who ever lived.

WHEN A STAN LOVES A WOMAN - 2AJN23 - 2007 - When Stan is emasculated by the number of Francine’s past sexual partners, they agree to divorce so that he can have meaningless sex with another woman - with disastrous results.

JOINT CUSTODY - 2AJN24 - 2007 - When Roger discovers that Hayley’s boyfriend is a wanted felon, he and Stan become bounty hunters on a cross country race for the chance to turn him in to the police.

METER MADE - 3AJN01 - 2007 - When Stan goes to court for assault and battery on a meter maid, he's sentenced to community service as a meter maid; and he abuses his new power.

BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE LANGLEY - 3AJN03 - 2007 - When Francine's adopted parents stop by for an unannounced stay, Stan is furious that they refuse to assimilate to his "man of the house" ways.

HAYLIAS - 3AJN04 - 2007 - When Hayley decides to move to France, Stan will do anything to stop her… including revealing that as a child she was brainwashed by the CIA.

42-YEAR-OLD-VIRGIN - 3AJN05 - 2007 - When Stan's friends and family find out he's never murdered anyone, they become sad; and they encourage Stan to become the killer CIA agent he should be.

FRANNY 911 - 3AJN06 - 2007 - When Roger angers Stan yet again, Francine and Roger stage a kidnapping to prove to Roger that Stan really cares.

SURRO-GATE - 3AJN07 - 2007 - When Terry and Greg, the Smiths' gay neighbors want to have a baby, Francine offers to be their surrogate; not surprisingly, Stan objects.

TEARJERKER - 3AJN08 - 2008 - When Roger has aspirations to become a film producer, he has the idea to kidnap movie stars and replace them with robots that make terrible movies.

OEDIPAL PANTIES - 3AJN09 - 2008 - When Stan's mother gets dumped, she shows up wanting Stan to comfort her; and Francine wants to know what's wrong with the men in her life.

WIDOWMAKER - 3AJN10 - 2008 - Francine wants Stan to open up emotionally, and after a few sessions with Roger "the pretend psychiatrist," he admits to killing Francine's friend's husband.

RED OCTOBER SKY - 3AJN11 - 2008 - When Stan hunts for an ex-KGB agent, and can't find him, he's blown away when he discovers that the Russian is his new next-door neighbor.

MOST ADEQUATE CHRISTMAS EVER, THE - 3AJN12 - 2007 - Stan dies on Christmas Eve while trying to find the perfect Christmas tree, then wreaks havoc in purgatory while trying to return to his family.

OFFICE SPACEMAN - 3AJN13 - 2008 - Roger outs himself as an alien; he disguises himself as a photographer, and finagles his way into being appointed the CIA's chief alien hunter, while taking advantage of a lavish expense account… and always "just missing" the alien.

FAMILY AFFAIR - 4AJN03 - 2009 - When the Smiths discover that Roger has been cheating on him with other families, they feel betrayed and kick him out until he learns how to be monogamous.

LIVE AND LET FRY - 4AJN04 - 2009 - When Langley Falls bans trans fats, Stan decides to smuggle some in from the next county over, and uses Steve as his mule; and Klaus gets word that he has received an inheritance from his great aunt (but can't collect it because the CIA has turned him into a fish).

ROY ROGERS MCFREELY - 4AJN05 - 2009 - When Stan forgets to pick up grenadine at the grocery store, Roger goes berserk and vows his revenge; he takes over Stan's pet project, becoming chairman of the Homeowner's Association, and making himself the "Man" that Stan must bring down.

RAPTURE'S DELIGHT - 4AJN17 - 2009 - When Stan and Francine are left behind during the rapture on Christmas day, Stan tries to ditch Francine for the pearly gates, blaming the oversight on her moral failings; but when Francine is kidnapped by the Anti-Christ, Stan does everything he can to get her back. 

BRAINS, BRAINS, AND AUTOMOBILES - 4AJN18 - 2009 - When Steve and Hayley go away for the summer, Francine teaches Roger to be self sufficient so she can spend time alone with Stan; when Roger moves out, Stan fears Francine will leave him once she discovers how boring he is, so he cooks up a scheme to bring Roger back home to spice up their lives.

MAN IN THE MOONBOUNCE - 4AJN19 - 2009 - When Stan discovers his inner child, and winds up in a minimum-security prison, Steve must become the man of the house, making him old beyond his years. 

IN COUNTRY... CLUB - 4AJN20 - 2009 - When Steve is selected to sing the National Anthem at the Langley Falls Veterans Day Celebration, Stan decides that the only way Steve can truly sing about the country’s military prowess is by experiencing what it’s like to go to war.  

G-STRING CIRCUS - 4AJN21 - 2009 - When Hayley no longer feels she needs Stan’s advice, Stan takes it upon himself to prove her wrong by offering his council to a stripper in hopes of improving her life; but when his business venture tanks, he finds himself stripping for cash to cover up his failures. 

MY MORNING STRAIGHT JACKET - 4AJN22 - 2009 - When Hayley goes to a My Morning Jacket concert against Stan’s orders, he goes to the show demanding that she return home, but when he hears their music he becomes obsessed with the band, and decides to follow them on the road as a groupie.

DON'T LOOK A SMITH HORSE IN THE MOUTH - 5AJN01 - 2010 - When Francine demands that Stan trade in his gas-guzzling SUV for a hybrid in order to save money, he buys a horse that Roger promises him will win big at the track… and allow him to keep his beloved car.

JONES FOR A SMITH, A - 5AJN02 - 2010 - When an under-the-weather Stan meets a “pharmaceutical salesman” outside a local soup kitchen, he gives Stan some “cold medicine” (which is really crack cocaine), and Stan becomes addicted.

RETURN OF THE BLING - 5AJN03 - 2010 - When Stan discovers that Roger played on the 1980 US Olympic Hockey team, and is one of his real-life heroes, he begins treating him like a king; but when Roger admits that he used steroids to help him win, Stan makes him give the medal back.

MAY THE BEST STAN WIN - 5AJN04 - 2010 - After Stan gives Francine love coupons for Valentine’s Day, he becomes so enamored with a CIA cyborg of himself that he refuses to honor the coupons… sending her straight into the arms of his cyborg self.

PEOPLE, THE VS. MARTIN SUGAR - 5AJN05 - 2010 - When Stan is selected to perform jury duty he’s surprised to discover that the defendant is none other than Roger; meanwhile, Hayley and Jeff move in with the Smiths. 

COPS & ROGER - 5AJN06 - 2010 - When Roger and Francine are victims of a mugging, Roger joins the Police Academy in order to learn how to be a real man; after graduating at the top of his class, he falls in with a dirty cop who leads him astray.

PINATA NAMED DESIRE, A - 5AJN07 - 2011 - When Stan confides to Roger that his terrible acting is getting in the way of his job performance, Roger invites Stan to attend his acting class. When Stan beats Roger out of the lead role in a local play, the two of them go head to head on who’s the better actor. 

MERLOT DOWN DIRTY SHAME - 5AJN08 - 2010 - When Roger and Francine go wine tasting, they get carried away, and Roger kisses Francine in a drunken moment; when Francine decides to tell Stan about the incident, Roger panics, and convinces Stan that Francine was the initiator.

YOU DEBT YOUR LIFE - 5AJN09 - 2011 - When Stan saves Roger’s life, his debt to him is paid off so he and Roger decide to go their separate ways. When Roger gets lonely and wants back in, he finds he must fight for his position. Meanwhile Steve gets the announcement job at school and gets a little power hungry. 

INCIDENT AT OWL CREEK, AN - 5AJN10 - 2010 - Stan becomes the butt of all jokes following an embarrassing happening at the new neighbors’ pool party; humiliated, he fakes his family’s death, and sneaks out of Langley Falls in the middle of the night to escape the shame.

BULLY FOR STEVE - 5AJN11 - 2010 - Roger studies crime scene photography; Stan bullies Steve in hopes of toughening him up.

GREAT SPACE ROASTER - 5AJN12 - 2010 - When Roger gets offended by the roast that he demanded the Smith family have for his 1601st birthday, he goes so crazy that they are left no choice but to go on the run.

STANNY-BOY AND FANTASTIC - 5AJN13 - 2011 - When Stan and Francine begin hanging out with a thrill seeking young couple, their social life gets a boost but they quickly realize they can’t keep up with their adventurous new friends and devise a plan to slow them down for good. 

100 A.D. - 5AJN14 - 2010 - When Haley elopes with her slacker boyfriend, Stan and Francine do everything they can to stop it from happening; and tragedy strikes Langley Falls in AMERICAN DAD’s 100th episode. 

WHITE RICE - 5AJN15 - 2010 - After Stan and Francine have an argument, Stan recommends they see a marriage counselor but instead takes her to see a hypnotist who reawakens her dream of being a stand-up comedian. 

STAN'S FOOD RESTAURANT - 5AJN16 - 2010 - When Francine learns that Stan’s lifelong dream is to open his very own restaurant she convinces him that Roger would be the perfect partner; When Stan’s vision of his eatery is not what Roger had in mind, his dream literally goes up in flames.

FARTBREAK HOTEL - 5AJN18 - 2011 - When Roger releases lethal gas into the Smiths' home they are forced to move into a hotel until the fumes clear. With no housework to do, Francine finds herself unsure of how to spend her new “me time” and winds up assuming the identity of a businesswoman, but soon realizes that family life is more fulfilling. 

BEST LITTLE HORROR HOUSE IN LANGLEY FALLS, THE - 5AJN19 - 2010 - When a neighbor threatens to break Stan and Francine's winning streak of having the scariest haunted house on the block for the ninth straight year, Stan is forced to up the ante using real life horrors.

JENNY FROMDABLOC - 6AJN08 - 2011 - When Hayley rejects Snot’s advances, Steve enlists Roger to cheer him up by pretending to be a hot girl who’s interested in him; when Snot and Roger actually fall in love, and Snot becomes the cool one of the group, Steve grows jealous and sabotages the whole thing; and Stan decides he wants to live like a gentleman of the ‘60s.  

GORILLAS IN THE MIST - 6AJN10 - 2011 - When Stan decides to be a friend to Steve rather than a father, the two of them begin paling around; things get out of control when Steve sneaks into the gorilla exhibit, and an ape schools Stan about fatherhood.  

HOT WATER - 6AJN18 - 2011 - Stan is stressed by family life, so he decides to buy a hot tub for the backyard; he becomes obsessed, and when the hot tub starts singing and encourages some bad behavior, they are all in trouble. (INTERNATIONAL ONLY)
